Supporting creatives: Motormouth Films

I strongly bel10357507_10154879242390193_1878713678049875174_nieve in supporting passionate people who go for their goals. Those people who know they want out of life and do not stop until they get there. In the artistic field you can meet either the type fascinated by the glamour or the type who has a genuine love for creating something for the world. Such is the case of the talented Jamie Patterson.

You see, young director Jamie Patterson is co-owner of Jump Start Productions has already an established and successful film production company. That is how we actually met. A feature film of his, Home from Christmas, got my attention and from a screening I ended up interviewing the people involved. With twelve feature films already to his name and an array of awards worldwide, Jamie felt it was time to branch out and focus on solo projects.

Motormouth Films differs to Jump Start Productions in that it specializes in a broader spectrum of media content. Jamie’s lifelong friend FullSizeRender-2Jacob Perraton is also co-running the company. He chose to set up this company up to produce documentaries, music videos, low budget films and adverts. With a very simple yet quite fitting logo, Motormouth is made to resemble its founder and has well set goals.

The company currently has four projects in pre-production and is developing various film ideas, a large selection of which are due for production in 2016 and 2017. ‘What projects?’ you might ask. Luckily, I was curious enough for you:

    – “God’s Petting You” – A low-budget feature film which tells the story of Charlie, a heroin addict who whilst at an AA meeting falls for a beautiful sex addict, only to find himself quickly getting caught up in a world of robbery and porn stars. An original darkly comedic film in the tone of Pulp Fiction.
    – “Knocker Boys” – A feature length documentary about Brighton’s ‘Knocker Boys’. These crooks, known as ‘Brighton Knocker Boys’, would cold call their victims and persuade them to let them into their homes so they can check out valuable items. They convince their unwitting customers to sell on their goods for a fraction of their actual value. Motormouth Films also has a feature film script in development based on ‘Brighton Knocker Boys’.
    – “The Truth About Happiness” – Taking inspiration from the ‘100 Happy Days’ challenge this feature length documentary will try to answer the question ‘what makes people happy’. Jamie will be travelling around the world to meet different people who have taken part in the challenge whilst completing it himself.
    – “Strangers” – A six-part web series designed to try to secure a television commission. Strangers follows an everyday sports bag from character to character, delving into an underworld which leaves the audience asking, ‘What’s in the bag?’.

And that is not it! Motormouth Films has begun production on its debut project, a feature length documentary called “Wise Guys”, which has secured DVD and VOD distribution for 2016.bb48f0_049853ec83b7453abf9109724b71624a.jpg_srz_p_420_278_75_22_0.50_1.20_0.00_jpg_srz

Now, I don’t know about you, but considering how things work nowadays and how expensive this business can be, I find this truly inspiring! If you want to check them out or keep an eye out for their future projects, just check out their Official Website, Twitter and Instagram pages. I am certain you will be pleasantly surprised.
